We leverage science whenever possible. We are inherently skeptical of popular theories and management fads and use science to analyze their strengths and flaws.

Human biology, neuroscience, and psychology are highly-evolved fields that can help any individual, team, or business. Practically speaking, these fields help us understand how to hire, lead, teach, develop, motivate, reward, and connect human beings more effectively. These fields are far from figuring everything out, but they are decades ahead of what most businesses, teams, and individuals know and do today.

We believe it is important to closely scrutinize theories when it comes to things like accountability, trust, engagement, drive, teaming, innovation, collaboration, management, or anything else. Bookstores, podcasts, and management teams are filled with theories and recommendations science has long-ago disproven or shown the downsides of. Teams that can free themselves of flawed theories thrive.

Everything in a business comes from the human brain. The highest organizational imperative is to select and activate the optimal brains in the optimal state for the work, fueled by great managers.

Every decision and action comes from individuals or groups. Specifically, all decisions and actions come from brains that are either in an optimal or sub-optimal state to perform the decision or action.

We believe it’s important to never attribute to systems, process, or incentives that which is better explained by mindset, personality, or biology. After all, all of the systems, process, and incentives did come from a brain or group of brains.

All human beings are growing as people.

Whether we want to or not, we are growing based on learning, trial and error, and life experience. Some people are looking to decelerate their growth (through stubbornness, rigidity, aloofness, disagreeableness, etc.) and others are looking to accelerate it.
